Bear Revisited
Posted on Sunday, July 4th, 2010 at 8:51 pmRemember this? I found a new one. Thanks to a facebook friend, I found the exact same one on ebay. I paid $12.99 for it. I thought it was a rip-off. It’s a small stuffed bear! At least I didn’t have to pay for shipping and I thought $12.99 was a small price to pay for a good night’s sleep. I was excited to get the package a couple of days later, but when I opened it, I almost didn’t recognize it. The bear looked so clean and fluffy and new. Nothing like this old rag that Ashton carries around constantly. It even looked bigger! But a side-by-side comparison proved that it was, in fact, the same bear. Ashton didn’t believe it, though. When he asks for, “bear” and I hand him the new one, he looks at me like I’m crazy and throws it. I’m working on dirtying it up, but it’s hard for me to want to make such a cute little thing nasty. For now, I just leave it with him in his crib when he sleeps, hoping the stench of the old bear will rub off on the new guy. At least I have a back-up in a desperate situation. Hopefully I’ll never need it, but I have peace of mind knowing that I can rub the thing in filth and maybe, just maybe it will look and smell like “Bear.”

That’s hilarious! Kids are so funny that way. I’d take that new bear over the old bear any day! I bought Aaron a nice cozy ORANGE fleece blanket because it’s his favorite color. Stacy made him one when he was 2 and he wore that thing out. He was so excited when I got him the new blanket. I was getting ready to put his old blanket in his baby box and he freaked out. My plan didn’t work. He was so excited to get a new one so that he could now have TWO orange blankets, LOL.
