Closing Time
Posted on Thursday, December 17th, 2009 at 10:56 pmYesterday we closed escrow. Everything was done. I was really excited. Until this morning. My feelings changed from excitement to frustration when I pulled up to our new place and the former owner still had his junk all over. I got more and more angry, the more time I spent there this morning. We were supposed to start working on the place today. Instead, we spent the day trying to figure out how to get the guy out in record time. I turned livid when he called me and told me that he would be out by 4 or 5 but for sure by 7 a.m. TOMORROW! Finally, at 5 we went over to change the locks. Lucky for the guy, we were unsuccessful. Sometimes I feel sorry for the guy. He has a whole bunch of junk and nobody at all helping him. But then I think, he just pocketed a bunch of money. He could hire movers. He could at least rent a truck. He gave us this sob story about how he didn’t have any money to get a truck until this morning because escrow didn’t pay him until today. He has a lot more sob stories than that but I’ll spare you all of the annoying details. The point is, none of these things are my fault. We have had a long, frustrating escrow, so for the last 2 months, he has known that he should be out soon. In fact, he expected to be out a month ago. Why things weren’t more organized, I don’t know. The point is, it’s my house. It’s time for me to start working on it so I need him OUT!
Here are some pictures to give you an idea of our situation. As you can see, I have my work cut out for me.

This is what the kitchen looked like at 10:30 this morning. He was supposed to be out 3 1/2 hours earlier. Not even close.

Oh Kiersten! How frustrating! Well you know that I am just a phone call away from helping you. Let me know what you need. Also that oven/stove is something else. I can see why you really want new appliances. Again let me know what I can do to help.
Oh Kiersten!
IRRITATING. Some people are out of control idiots.
