Escrow
Posted on Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009 at 5:27 pmI thought I would write a little update on the home-owning situation. We’re still in escrow, in case you were wondering. It started mid-October. We were hoping to close before Thanksgiving. Then it was the end of November. I’m hoping now that we’ll be in our new place before Christmas. It’s a good thing the government extended the first time homebuyer program or I’d be $8000 more mad right now. We’ve been waiting on a number of things. Apparently we should have loan documents by the end of the week. The problem is, we’re getting a loan from the city and they require certain standards to be met before we can occupy our new place. Some of the repairs are the responsibility of the homeowners association. They went in to repair some things and weren’t able to, because the seller had his stuff in the way. Of course, the seller won’t move out until we close. I don’t know why that keeps him from moving his stuff out of the way. He’s just kind of a mess (and a slob). So we’re kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. Supposedly the HOA is going in to do repairs tomorrow. We’ll see if they get done. For now, I’m frustrated, but happy that I can see a light at the end of a LONG tunnel. Who ever said buying a house would be fun? Oh, nobody who has bought a house.
On a brighter note, if you haven’t seen our new family photos, check them out here. I love the way they turned out.
So sorry about the house, but the good news is that your pictures are beautiful! I love them! The pictures of Ashton and London together are so adorable! If we end up here, I’ll be using that photographer next time! Just lovely!
Fingers crossed! Sorry, I’m sooooo behind on blogs! And actually, they sell yams at my grocery store! They make the best fries!
Good luck with the house! Your family pictures are darling!
Ahh…..horrible memories coming back. The home buying process sucks, but when you know you are THIS CLOSE to closing, it drags on forever. You need to post pics of your new digs. We’re way excited for you and yes, I would LOVE to come and decorate your home. What’s my budget???
I have learned the hard way not to complain to kong or loud about ward parties! This year was the 1st ward Christmas Party in probably 15 years that I wasn’t in charge!
I have lots of pointers for who ever wants them! My grandchildren are adorable!
