London is thankful for Guy’s birthday party.
We have some friends (a walking friend of mine in Pomona) who now live in Corona. They have two little boys, Rex (6 months younger than London) and Guy. They also have a baby girl. Today was Guy’s 2nd birthday party. We were excited to go see them, and meet baby Ivy. I took the kids yesterday and visited in Temecula with an old roommate, Stacey, and her daughter, Cloey.
I loved seeing Stacey again and visiting with her and London had a great time with Cloey. She told me today that she misses Cloey and Stacey already (except she couldn’t remember Stacey’s name). We then spent the night at Taylor’s parents house and went to Guy’s birthday party today. I had a fun weekend and so did London. It was fun for me to see old friends and it was fun for London to make new friends, thanks to Guy’s birthday party.

London and her new friend, Hannah

Of course I had to add this picture of Ashton's first swing ride.
I’m also thankful for grandmas. Both of my grandpas have passed away. I’m so thankful to still have my grandmas around. One lives right next door to my parents. I love that I can spend time with her every time I visit my parents. Unfortunately, my other grandma lives far away in Canada. She’s planning a trip down here in the spring and I’m so excited to see her! I’m also thankful for my kids’ grandparents. They just love being spoiled by them. London knows how to get her way with the grandparents. I guess that’s what they’re for.

I’m always impressed with what London comes up with that she’s “thankthee” for. We weren’t home last night and I couldn’t sign onto my blog on my in-laws slower-than-molasses computer. Anyway, London is thankful for family. Me too. I really feel blessed by the family that I have. I have a wonderful husband who takes good care of us, and I have great children. I’m so thankful for my parents and my brothers and sisters and their husbands and kids. Really, there are none of us that don’t get along. I’ve also been so blessed to marry into such a wonderful family. My family is really one of the biggest things in my life that I’m thankful for. I also have great friends (another F word). I don’t know what I would do without them.

London says she’s thankful for the earth. Me too. I’m thankful I have such a beautiful place to live.
I’m thankful for exercise. I love the way I feel after I exercise. I’m thankful that I can exercise. Now, if I just will…

I’m thankful for the dark. This is mostly because London’s okay with sleeping more if it’s dark. She thinks she has to be up if the sun is up. I’m okay with the sun not being up as much, if she’s going to be sleeping, although I think it would be tough to live in Alaska where it stays dark all winter.
London is thankful for dancing. She’s never taken a class, but she loves to dress up as a dancer and pretend. She didn’t say this, but she’s also thankful for dressing up. That is her absolute favorite thing to do lately.

I’m thankful for church and Christ. I’m thankful that I belong to a church that I really do know to be true and that I have the freedom to worship how I want. I’m thankful for Christ and for his sacrifice for me. And I’m so excited that Christmas is coming, where I can hopefully focus on Him.
London is thankful for Cinderella. She’s really into princesses and Cinderella happens to be her favorite right now. She always wants to dress up like her and pretend.

I’m thankful for my bed. Really. I love it. My father-in-law bought a memory foam mattress a while back and my mother-in-law didn’t really like it. So they gave it to us and let me tell you, it’s heavenly! It’s not just that I have a great mattress, I love sleeping, especially in my bed, although you wouldn’t know that from looking at the time I’m writing this!
London is thankful for a basket to carry things in. (She looked around the room and the first thing she saw that started with the letter “B” was a laundry basket.) She told me, though, that she was carrying her things in a basket and she’s thankful for it. She’s also thankful for her brother. She really does love him and is so sweet to him.

Last year I posted something I was thankful for every day of the month of November, until Thanksgiving day. I think it’s a great tradition that I’ll continue this year. Like last year, I’m going to post one thing starting with each letter of the alphabet. Since Thanksgiving falls on the 26th this year, it’s perfect. I have also decided to enlist London’s help this time around. I’ll post what she tells me she’s thankful for, along with what I’m thankful for. And I’ll try to be original and not use repeats from last year. As you can see, I’m a little behind so I’ll do some catching up today.
I asked London what she’s thankful for that starts with the letter “A.” Of course she just told me the first thing that came to her mind that started with the letter “A.” Apple. London is thankful for apples to eat. Really, it’s one of the few things she likes, most of the time.

I’m thankful for Ashton. He really is a sweet baby and I think he’s just the cutest little thing. He’s so fun to play with and watch grow. And grow he does. That kid is huge! I look at some onesies he’s wearing and remember how London didn’t fit into them until she was a year old and walking. Anyway, he’s such a blessing in our home. He has the cutest little smile and he absolutely loves giving his baby open mouth kisses. What a blessing he is in our family!

I’m not a fan of time changes. I used to like the time change in the fall. Before I had kids. I spent all half of the night wrestling with a baby who wouldn’t sleep and half of the day today fighting with a four-year-old who’s too tired. I can’t wait until next week when we’re not adjusting anymore.

London came into my bed no less than five times this morning, trying to get me up. Each time the conversation went something like this:
London: Mommy, it’s time to get up!
Me: Okay, just a minute.
London: Mommy, get up!
Me: In a minute
London: Mommy, get out of bed!
Me: Leave me alone. I’ll get up in a minute!
Finally, she didn’t know what else to do and she said to Taylor, “Daddy, kiss her.” Do you think she watches too many princess movies?
