Posted on Thursday, November 19th, 2009 at 11:00 pmIt seems like my kids wake up way too early every morning. Since I’m usually still in bed while Taylor’s up with them, he lets them watch PBS. He gets up early to get work done so having the kids up with him is a little bit counter productive. And yes, Ashton watches TV too while he’s hanging out in his exersaucer. One show that’s on PBS all the time is Sesame Street. That’s what I’m thankful for today. Without that, I would not get as much sleep and Taylor wouldn’t get as much done. Many mornings I can convince London to take a bath faster than she normally would just because she wants to be done before Elmo’s World comes on. Not only does she love the show, it’s educational. What a life saver! And now for a funny story. We were at the carpet store a couple of days ago. It’s right near Chuck E. Cheeses. Of course London saw Chuck E. Cheeses and wanted to go there for dinner. Then she said, “Did you know that Chuck E. Cheeses is a proud sponsor of Sesame Street?” It was really hard for me not to start cracking up. It’s so funny the things that girl comes up with!
Today London is thankful for her snake. This summer while she was still refusing to poop in the potty, we tried everything we could think of to get her to just go. One of the incentives was that she would get to go to Target and pick out a toy if she pooped in the potty. Finally one day she pooped in the potty so we all took a trip to Target. She chose this stupid rubber snake as her toy. I really don’t know what the attraction to the thing was, but she loves it. She even named it Kanla. Don’t ask me where she comes up with these names. She just does. It’s the simple things that make her happy.
Haha, so funny. I’ve been enjoying your posts, and started playing the “Thankful Alphabet” with Mylie while we’re driving around. And I’m seriously thankful for PBS and Sesame Street. I love that there are no commercials. The shows on there have definitely been a lifesaver for me when I need to sleep or get something done. Word World and Dinosaur Train are also on the top of our list.
So, in going along with London’s Chuck E Cheese story…. I listen to a lot of talk radio during the day, so Mylie has started recognizing the different host’s voices and taglines. One of my favorites always ends his segmemts with “…in this Greatest Nation on God’s Green Earth.” So the other were out somewhere, and Mylie turned to me and said, “Mom! Did you know this is the greatest nation on God’s green earth?!” The
patriot in me got a little teary, but mostly I just cracked up.
That’s so funny about London saying that! She is a crack up! I am also VERY thankful for sesame street! William is in love with Elmo, so I turn on sesame street and he’s usually pretty good so I can go shower. He starts smiling and laughing when Elmo comes on and dances too, it’s so cute!
That Sesame Street comment is sooooo Taylor, she is definately her fathers daughter! He use to say things like that all the time!!
