The Joy of Motherhood

Posted in Uncategorized | 6 Comments »

I’ve been asked to speak in church on Sunday about the joy of motherhood, especially of being a new mother.  Recently I haven’t been feeling a lot of that joy so I might need some help from my faithful readers, all two of you.  What are some of the things you find joyful in motherhood?  How do we keep that joy?  I’m up for any and all suggestions.

Kids First Rock Concert

img_2137Today was the first annual Coyote music festival at the college where Taylor works.  It was put on by one of the music classes, but Taylor was really involved with the whole process.  I’m so glad it’s over because now I’ll have my husband back (I hope).  The event started at 3 this afternoon and went until just after 8 this evening.  I brought the kids to see the last band, since Taylor was playing with them.  We sat on the grass close to the stage and London had a blast.  She was running around and dancing until I dragged her off to the car when it was time to go home.  img_21433She thought the concert was the greatest thing ever.  She kept wanting to climb up on the stage.  There were people with cameras everywhere so she thought it was fun to jump in front of any camera and pose.  She noticed that people were watching her.  What a funny girl.

Unsolicited Commentary

Why is it when my children are throwing fits, that people feel the need to comment on them?  Remember the Supernanny comment a while back?  If not, I’ll have to re-post.  It’s not on my new blog.  Anyway, today Ashton was screaming as we checked out at Target.  I had people walking out of their way to check out my screaming baby.  Of course one person said, “Wow, he’s mad.”  Ya think?  He wouldn’t be so mad if everybody would stop gawking let me leave!
